Fun on Background of the Naked Rock ("Veselye na fone goloy skaly")
Art-rock band from Vyatka (Kirov).

The history of band "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock" is possible for a message from time of the first rehearsals of band "Blowtorch" in summer 1998, under the initiative of Alexander Shishckin. Soon after that "Blowtorch" has taken to itself a new title - "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock". First band members were Dmitry Malkov (keyboards, rhytm guitar, vocals), Alexander Shishckin (guitar), Alexey Kostrov (bass guitar). Drums were given to Ruslan Batraev - one of the best and experienced drummers in Vyatka Rock-Laboratory (VRL).

As official date started of existence of band it is possible to consider March 7, 1999, when it took part in concert in Kirov Center of Children's Art including of such old bands of VRL as "Wonderful Chapparal" and "Polotno". "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock" already at the first concert has paid on itself public's attention by unusual sound and original arrangements. However, the gain of a broad audience really began from participation of group in the great project of VRL "From Dawn up to Sunset" (June 27, 1999), in which all strongest bands of Vyatka participated.

Vyatka rock audience has exhibited genuine interest to music of "Fun", which style to a that moment was possible to determine as neoclassical art-rock. Equally through five months (November 27, 1999) the band has taken part in an autumnal festival of VRL, which was named "Oxymorone (To dry matches)" ("Sooshit spitchki"). On this festival the group played in a little bit changed membership: on keys Victoria Perminova (D. Malkov still played rhythm guitar and did vocals), A. Buldakov has become the bass guitarist, in exchange of Kostrov, who leaved band. The performance on a festival "Oxymorone" was marked by the first serious success of band "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock". It is marked also by growth of the technical skill of musicians, the members of group (Shishckin, Malkov) have exhibited themselves as the uncommon composers.

Following time the group "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock" played at the closed concert of Vyatka rock-laboratory (February 12, 2000) among the elected commands alongside with such dinosaur as "Cemetary's wild strawberry" ("Kladbistchenskaya Zemlyanika"). To this moment the classical structure of group was issued, with which it has found broad popularity (D. Malkov - key, vocals, A. Shishckin - guitar, A. Buldakov - bass guitar, vocals, R. Batraev - drums). At the same concert debuted appeared on a base of "Wonderful Chapparal" bands "The Left Geometry" ("Levaya Geometriya") and "A Triangular Heron" ("Treugolnaya Tsaplya"), now becoming already popular.

Further concerts followed literally one other. March 30 the group played on presentation of club "Wonderful Chapparal". April 1 the rock-festival "Rock-n-roll, love and ice-cream" was held, in which "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock" participate as one of the best commands in Vyatka rock-laboratory. April 26, 2000 the next concert in club "Wonderful Chapparal" was held, the performance on which was recognized by an audience as best in a history of group "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock". Here skill and talent of the participants of group have revealed in full volume. May 20 the performance on one from the most prestigious platforms of city - in a concert hall House of Culture "Advance-guard" was held. At this concert sound of "Fun on Background of the Naked Rock" has supplemented startling vocal of Irina Bazhina, since that day, becoming the full member of group. In a middle of a summer of this year the group has suffered irreplaceable loss. July 14 in auto catastrophe has perished Dmitry Malkov. The tragedy which has shaken other members of group, could not, however, force them to lower hands.
